Our second full day in China just happened to be the last day of Chinese New Year and the Chinese Lantern Festival. We've got a perfect view of the festivities from our 10th floor hotel window. Non stop fireworks for several hours now. This morning we headed to church at the Beijing International Christian Fellowship. It was a contemporary service with a great worship band singing part in Chinese, part in English. The minister spoke in English. You'll just have to trust me when I tell you what a special time it was. The jade factory to learn the tradition of passing along jade to our daughters and then on to the Great Wall. Darrin and I made it to the first tower, which from the pictures doesn't look very high, but trust me, it was quite the hike. The wall is one of the seven wonders of the world and measures 4,500 miles overall. It was breathtaking fom every direction. Nothing that I can say adequately describes this day, but the challenge will get tougher starting tomorrow. We leave for the airport to go to Caroline's province tomorrow morning at 6:30.
